After obtaining BA and MA fashion at London’s Central Saint Martins under the late professor Louise Wilson OBE in 2011, Kathleen Kye launched her brand KYE. KYE’s strong statement of unisex high-end streetwear and representation of youth culture gained KYE recognition of one of the leading young brand and influencing young designer in Korea. KYE’s talent is noticed by many prestigious organizations. Her first recognition was by Vauxhall fashion scout in London Fashion Week, where she showed her first collection. After she moved to Seoul, she soon sponsored by Korean government to be selected as Concept Korea, and started showing during New York Fashion Week. In 2014, KYE was one of the LVMH Prize semifinalists. In the same year, she received SFDF Award, Samsung Fashion & Design Fund. Also, KYE was selected as 10 Asian Designers to Watch by Hong Kong Design Center in 2016 and selected as one of the 30 under 30: Forbes Asia in 2017. KYE has done numerous international collaborations from cosmetic brands to fashion labels, food & beverages and many more including: Shu Uemura x KYE, I.T, D-mop, Galleria, CJ petitzel, Beaker, W hotel, Skechers, Doota dutyfree store, My boon, Nike Korea, Adidas China, Gentle Monster, VFILES, MLB, Hyundai Motors, various publications, magazines and many more. KYE’s creative field also expands to collaborating with musical talents such as 2ne1, Shinee and many other pop icons. She also wrote a bestselling autobiographical fashion book back in 2015.
